    This little soil block maker is perfect for its intended purpose. I want to be sure seeds germinate before allocating them 2" sq for growing out the seedling. These teeny tiny soil blocks provide the perfect germination bed to move just the seeds that start into the 2-inch blocks. I am able to start a lot of seeds in a very small space and only transplant the viable ones into the larger growing space. This soil block maker comes with the inserts so the little blocks can pop right into my 2-inch blocks when the time comes. The reason I gave these a 4-star rating rather than a 5-star rating is that they do dry out faster than I had anticipated and require a vigilant eye to ensure they do not dry out as the seeds germinate, leading to a high rate of infant seed mortality.
